Big K Vaca {part 2}

Like I said last time, Caleb did not enjoy the beach water in Grayton Beach, FL...

 I was sad, because I LOVE the beach! Seriously...the ONLY place I would leave the great nation state of Texas for is a house on the beach {preferably Maui}. Maybe CK will enjoy the beach next time, but for now, he was perfectly happy on the shore and taking naps on grandma Kay.

Thankful for my mom and those naps because it gave us time to enjoy the water and those waves!

 CK was definitely the COOLEST kid in Grayton Beach!

I think we asked my dad to buy the beach house in FL about 100 times during those 8 days! My brother lives in Alabama {yes, he left the great TX} and the rest of us 3 "kids" are spread out over TX, so Florida would be a good central location...duh!

All of us 5 "kids" went to Panama Beach for the day. We goofed off, shopped, and watched a movie...just like old times.

 We tried to teach CK how to crawl...using food, his favorite thing!

...no crawling, but lots of wiggling.

We even had an "unbirthday" celebration with a white elephant gift exchange...

 We tried to teach CK how to crawl some more...with food.

 We had so much fun!

We took Caleb to a bar...Red Bar on Grayton Beach!

And the boys went deep sea fishing! They were very successful and brought home dinner {to feed a few hundred}.

So much can change in 1 year. Last year we vacationed as a family of 2 in Maui, and this year there's 3! I loved every second of Grayton Beach, and I'm so thankful that my parents organized this vacation!!! ...back to Texas and real life now, y'all!

Big K Vaca {part 1}

We kicked off summer {June 2...yes, I'm just now catching up} by sneaking away for a week long Big K vaca to Grayton Beach, Florida. My dad's present to my mom for her 50th was a family vacation. It's hard to get all of us together now that we're "all grown-up" because we live so far apart, so we all were looking forward to this trip.

This was our first time to fly with a baby....and boy, there is a lot to pack for a flight with a baby! Thankfully, some of my friends gave me some good baby-flying tips: 1. put formula in bottles with out water {buy room temperature water at airport...after security}, 2. buy an umbrella stroller {I had to because my big papa britax b-ready didn't meet the weight limit}, 3. Pack as much stuff into the carseat suitcase because you can check it in for free {best advice EVER}

Overall the flight was good {going through security carrying everything and a baby was the toughest}, and Caleb slept 1hr on my lap on the plane. So sweet!

This was the beach house we stayed at on Grayton Beach

 This was our neighbor for the week and the prettiest house in all Grayton Beach

Sis did a lot of this...

Caleb's first trip to the beach was an adventure! He didn't like the beach water...the water was a little cold for him and he did NOT like the waves. He preferred to play on the sand...
 I love all the skull & crossbone baby swimwear! Makes my ChiO loving heart happy!

 My beach boys...
Caleb's first day at the beach...

...nope he was not a fan of the beach water!

CK might not like the water, but he's all smiles on shore...

...and THANKFULLY our beach house came with a private pool, so CK could enjoy some water time

It was so much fun to hang out with my parents, grandma, 2 brothers, sis, and hubby and CK all week! Yep all the Big K's fighting over Caleb's attention!

I'm so thankful for my parents for providing this relaxing beach vacation!!! I wish my family lived closer!

{more vaca pics are on their way}
