Happy {15 Months} Caleb!

My sweet baby boy is three months away from becoming an official toddler! Wow!

Dear Caleb,

You are a rambunctious, comical, fearless, and lovable little boy! You're nickname this month has been "sour patch kid", because first you're sour and then you're sweet. For example, one second you will be climbing on the couch, throwing a toy at Ariel's head, and the next second you will hug Ariel and come hug me. One extreme to the next my little sour patch kid.

You're favorite thing to do right now is climb on everything! Everything. It makes me nervous, and I can't leave you alone in the living room...too many sharp corners to fall on. You learned how to walk backwards this month, and now love to moon dance in the kitchen. It's hysterical!

You got your first haircut this month...eekkk! It looks really cute, but I miss your long hair! Thankfully, you let me comb and style your hair! Thank you, thank you! I hope you let me do this until you're 30. Or 18.

You still love bathtime {I think we need a pool because you love water so much}, and love to brush your teeth. If anyone accidentally mentions "toothbrush", you run to your bathroom. You'll even grab my hand and lead me to your bathroom. It's so cute, I'll go ahead and brush your teeth on the spot.

Speaking of grabbing hands, I'm trying to teach you to hold my hand and walk in public. We've been working on crossing the street, walking in parking lots, and going in circles around the house. You're doing pretty good, and hopefully will be a pro by summer.

After 15 months, Ariel is finally starting to love you. She'll let you sit by her on the couch and pet her. This is big! Ariel will play tug-o-war with you, and she'll run to you when we get home. She now wants to sleep in your room and hide under your crib. The hiding under your crib is driving me bonkers, because she wants to do this while you're napping. As long as she doesn't wake you, I'm ok with it.

Stats:
Weight: 29lbs
Height: 2' 8.5"
90% in growth

You're still a giant baby in the 90%, but you're slowing down a little bit. I swear you feel 40lbs, but you're closer to 30lbs.

You are still a happy, content, easy-going baby that loves to eat every 45 minutes. You eat the same sized meal portions as I do, and never turn down free food. Typical little man.

Caleb, you're almost a toddler, but you're still my little baby. I love you so much, and cherish every hug, kiss, and smile with you. I pray that you grow up to be a man that chases after God's heart, and allows me to hug you whenever I want. We love you CK.

Happy {13 & 14 Months} Caleb!

Caleb is 14 months old...how can this be?!

My sweet Caleb,
I know I must sound like a song on repeat, but every month just keeps getting better. These past two months have been a blast with you around! We celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas, and rang in the New Year {you were sick though poor kiddo} together.

You are extremely active now. After you turned 13 months {in December} you started using sign language like you had been able to sign all along. You are a tricky-trickster for holding out so long! In one day, you signed "milk", "more", "eat/food", and "finished". And it wasn't just a one time thing...you sign ALL of the time now! I'm so proud of you!!

The biggest development at 13 months was you said "momma" for the first time! It sounds more like "maaaaaawwwwma", but I'll take it! You only say it when you fall or if you're in pain, but that's because I give the best kisses and I have magical hugs that make everything turn into rainbows and butterflies!

At 14 months, you can say "dada, momma, ball {"ba"}, thank you {"tank--oo"}, bye, and Ariel {"air--o"}.

You love to snuggle! You will go into your room {Oh! You can open doors now too...we have to keep the bathrooms locked!},  grab your blanket and pacifier, and then come and sit in my lap. It's my FAVORITE time of day! You also like to go grab a book and then sit in my lap so I can read it to you. I LOVE it! Please don't stop doing this!

Your favorite thing to do during play time is either throw your toy balls or kick them. You're actually really good! Mrs. MT {your babysitter, while I work in the morning} said that you have really good hand-eye coordination for your age. You can kick a ball and make it go into the box. You can also hit a big ball with your bat when we throw it to you. It's quite impressive considering I still can't hit a baseball, or throw, or play any sport for that matter.

Caleb, Daddy and I love you so much! We love snuggling with you, playing with you, reading to you, and just being around you! We hope you know how much you are loved.

Happy {12 Months} Caleb!

We made it to the 1 year mark, hooray! Caleb is alive and healthy, and I feel a little wiser as a mother! Can you tell that I'm a first time momma?!?! We celebrated Caleb's 1 year birthday this past Saturday, and I can't wait to share all the pictures from that special day!

Dear Caleb,
I can't believe you are officially a TODDLER now! Where, oh where, did the past 365 days go?? Daddy and I can't image life without you, and we are so blessed that God chose us to be your parents!

This past month has brought the most changes...you are WALKING! You learned to take your first "real" steps when Grandma Kay was here, and within a week you were officially on the go. At first you wanted to hold my hand 24/7 while walking, but a week before your birthday you refused my hand. I'm going to be honest...I'm glad you can walk on your own, but I miss you wanting to hold my hand.

You've learned the word "topez" {um, it's spanish...and well...only your grandparents speak it, so I'm not 100% sure on the spelling}. When anyone says "topez" you come to them and give them a headbutt. Your great-grandpa would be so proud! "Topez" was his thing.

Now, for the stats:
Weight: 27lbs
Heigth: 2' 7"
Head: 19"

Dude! You are a giant! But, since you were born at 9lbs 10.5oz the doctor said you're healthy, and this weight gain is normal {you're still in the 95% in your age/size}. My back and neck thank you for your ability to walk...momma doesn't have enough muscles to carry a 27lb baby toddler.

Caleb, I love watching you chase Ariel {although Ariel doesn't like it}, I love playing with you, taking you to the park, and watching you splash like crazy in the bath! You give the sweetest wet kisses, and super strong bear hugs, and I hope you never get tired of cuddling with me!

This year has been a lot of learning for me, but also a lot of fun! I'm excited to have you as my little toddler, and can't wait to see what this next year brings!! Daddy and I will love you forever, like you for always, and as long as you're living, our baby you'll be! We love you CK!
