Counting to One Thousand Gifts

"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!" Psalm 107:1

"For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen." Romans 11:36

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.  For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him." Colossians 1:15

I began this journey to count to One Thousand Gifts, to tune my heart to God's sovereignty in the naming of daily thanks. The difficulty in this journey, is the practice of putting pen to paper...the recording of thanks. Yes, God is good! God is good and He does good in blessings and sufferings, so why do I fail to daily record my thanks? 

No matter how much time has past in writing my thanks, I will continue to press on because I need it. My heart needs it. Who knew that the simplicity of giving thanks would open the eyes of my heart to see and believe that God is good and He does good! 

And so, I press on.
